### What is Winevo? The first ecosystem of distributed wineries.

At Winevo, we are trying to innovate an industry that has been around for thousands of years: the wine industry. Our goal is to merge NFTs (non-fungible tokens) and wine, giving everyone the opportunity to invest or collect and enjoy fine wines, produced ad hoc.

Every bottle of wine has a story to tell. We will narrate it through NFTs and phygital assets.\
We want to create an authentic ecosystem, offer users the opportunity to live unique experiences and be part of an exclusive club.

### Why Winevo?

We want to push the wine industry to the next level. Three elements are keys:

* We start from Web3 to disrupt Web2, not vice versa;
* We are more than just digital, we are phygital;
* We have a long term vision with IRL investments.

### The context

#### How will the tokenization of assets affect the world of wine?

Here at Winevo we believe that NFTs will improve many different aspects of the wine industry, creating completely new experiences, from collectibles to investments.

Let us begin with some basic concepts that explain why this technology should be used to disrupt the wine industry.

### Ownership

#### Have you ever thought about what makes you the owner of an asset?

Three elements are the keys to prove the ownership:

* An identification of the owner;
* An identification of the object being owned;
* A mapping of the owner to the object.

### Authenticity

A relevant problem in the premium wine industry is the increasing presence of counterfeit bottles, particularly in the exclusive and limited production of premium wines.\
Counterfeit wines (and spirits) cost the global industry $3.18 billion in direct sales.

### NFTs and Tokenization of Wine

In the wine industry, NFTs can serve to provide trusted provenance data, traceability and authenticity. The idea is building trust and transparency between the producer and the final consumer.

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a cryptographic token based on the blockchain (Ethereum), this is a digital document that mainly represents two things: the ownership and the authenticity of a specific asset. The assets represented by NFTs are unique, non-interchangeable and cannot be replaced by other tokens.

NFTs can also represent real-world objects. We'll associate each NFT in our collections with a bottle of wine to secure its authenticity. Also, every trade is recorded on the blockchain, so the transfer of ownership is certified and verifiable by anyone.

As we said at the beginning, our idea is to merge NFTs utility and Wine. NFTs are not just digital art, they have many other features. At Winevo, we will implement these features on selected fine wines, guaranteed in eternity by their digital twin.

Another concept associated with NFTs is the presence of a community. We care about creating a healthy community of nft\&wine lovers to share ideas and create value on both industries.\
But we won't create a Discord channel immediately, first we want to generate value for people who will trust us and focus on the development, to strengthen our position in the market.
